On December 8th, 1941,these two cash vessels, escorted by two E course destroyers (HMS Electra, HMS Express), one S Class destroyer (HMS Tenedos), along with the Australian navy destroyer HMAS Vampire, sent from Singapore hitting a Japanese intrusion force.
