The Oscar II nuclear-powered cruise missile submarine, which displaces above 24,000 tons whenever under water, is certainly one of Russia's biggest and a lot of capable submarines. The submarine has 24 SS-N-19 cruise missiles with many different 550km . The missiles could be launched even though the submarine is submerged. The torpedo pipelines fire both torpedoes and paid down range anti-ship missiles. 11 in regards to the Oscar II submarines was built between 1985 and 1999. Three were decommissioned plus one, the Kursk , sank. Two Oscar II submarines are active using the Northern Fleet and five using the Pacific Fleet.
