After WWI, Germany forced ahead using the development of battle tanks under a veil of privacy. The Panzerkampfwagen II used the Panzerkampfwagen I's hull and came armed with a 2cm main weapon. Mass production had been only obtainable in 1937 and various improvements including a whole new suspension system was in fact made. Around 1088 Panzerkampfwagen II Ausf.A-C tanks have been manufactured up until April 1940. The Panzerkampfwagen II led the surprise assault on Poland and smashed their means throughout European countries. These were later changed by better frontline tanks but had been successfully employed in reconnaissance missions in front of the end from the war.
