Bf 109E started reaching the Jagdgrupen through autuma of 1939 with II/JG 54 getting some of the first macnines. On 22 November an E-3 dropped into Allied hands whenever a pilot from II/JG 54 crashlanded near Worth, some twenty kilometers inside France. THis machine won't ever just be tested regarding French but was in modification given to England plus finally on U.S. for assessment. The brand new, faster and harder-punching aircraft were extremely welcome toward young luftwaffe pillots that, periodically, were literally fighting because of their life against Allied pilots.
