The USS New Orleans CA-32 belonged to the robust New Orleans-class heavy cruisers that served prominently during World War II. Designed during the interwar years, these cruisers had wartime displacements from 10,136 to 12,436 tons and were upgraded with radar and enhanced anti-aircraft weapons for wartime duties.
Known for solid construction and combat performance, the New Orleans-class saw extensive action against Japanese forces and earned a combined total of 63 Battle Stars. This Trumpeter kit portrays the ship as she appeared in 1942, featuring the MS21 camouflage pattern.
The kit is supplied on nine sprues and allows the modeller to choose between a waterline model or a full hull. Accurate assembly, careful painting and fine brushes will help realise the 1942 appearance and camouflage for display in small-scale fleet groupings.
